The invisible force has been in your hands all along | Three exercises to find the evidence of your own qi
newYou have probably had this experience. You walk into a room and, before you have even sat down, you want to leave; or you spend time with someone and feel unaccountably settled, or unusually drained. These feelings are your own innate capacity for the sensation of qi, sending you a signal.
Every one of us carries this invisible energy field, and a field is built out of the ordinary things we do each day: how we choose what to eat, how we breathe, how we walk, how we live alongside our own body and our own emotions.
Qi is everywhere; you simply have not noticed the traces it leaves
In modern life we are used to handling body, mind and emotion in separate departments: a cold sends us to a physician, anxiety to a counselor, spiritual confusion to astrology or the esoteric. Each of these has its strengths, but between them we have gradually lost sight of how body, mind and spirit work as a whole.
Eastern wisdom has never separated the three. It sees them as one flowing field of energy.
Just as water exists as ice, liquid and vapor, a person exists at once in several layers of energy: the body (dense ice), the emotions (flowing water) and the spirit (formless vapor).
Which is to say that a blockage in your feelings, a discomfort in your body and a weariness of spirit may not be three separate problems, but the same current of qi catching at three different levels. Once we start to see it this way — qi as the unit that links everything — sensing qi becomes a place to begin, and each of us has a way of working through what troubles us that leaves a trail to follow, can be approached systematically, and moves toward the state we would like to be in.
So why do we feel "qi" less and less?
Qi is something real that can be sensed, and the perception of it can be built up through practice. But in a life ruled by efficiency, our senses and nervous system are overloaded with information for years on end, and the sharp inner radar we started with slowly dulls.
When that perception fades, we grow used to feeling uncomfortable, tired and emotionally unsteady, and we cannot find our way back to a calm, easy balance. That is what qi stagnation looks like: things do not run, do not clear, do not pass through. Ignore the shifts in your field for long enough and the body struggles to find its footing again, feelings are hard to settle, and even your decisions and your relationships can be affected.
If you want body and mind in balance, relaxation comes first
Stress = Stagnant Chi. Balance in the body is reached through relaxation, and to relax you can stretch and loosen, letting go of the tension held in muscles, joints and tissue. A body that is fully at ease is the precondition for holding good posture, for qi to move freely, for breathing well and for building a settled state of mind.
Qi is the truest navigation you have in daily life
Qi is like a current inside you: it moves the body, steadies the emotions and clears the mind, and it is the key force linking your inner and outer worlds.
✔ When qi runs smoothly, you feel even, your head is clear and what you do flows;
❌ When qi stagnates, you may feel tired for no reason, easily distracted, even as though your heart were not quite in the room.
All of this is qi talking. We are simply not used to listening yet.
Learning to sense qi is the first step back toward yourself
Qi is an inner capacity that can be trained and tuned, and every one of us is born with it. A little time each day spent in awareness is enough to open up your feel for your own field again. Try these three everyday exercises:

These exercises are not about feeling something straight away or getting quick results. They are an invitation to reconnect with your body through qi. As you practice, you will find that the "invisible qi" has been inside you all along.
Qi needs looking after, and you can tune it on purpose
Your field needs everyday care and support too. Meditation, deep breathing, exercise and time in nature are all good ways to replenish qi. But in the high-speed spin of daily life, many people find it hard to keep a steady rhythm of caring for themselves.
This is where the right companion for sensing qi can help you drop into a tuned state more readily during the day, and top up the inner energy that has gone out of balance. It is not a matter of leaning on an object; it is a kind of partnership, with Aqive supporting you to notice and look after yourself more effectively.
Let the feeling of qi be where you start coming back to yourself;
let the invisible force return to your hands.
